Zachary David Emberg-Kleppe

Zachary David Emberg-Kleppe passed away suddenly on December 31, 2024 in Edmonton, Alberta. Zach was born January 4, 1990 in Edmonton, where he spent most of his life.

He leaves behind his mother Sandra, father Daniel, brothers Daniel and Donald, daughter Aliyah, and many close friends and family near and far--all of whom will deeply miss him.

A gifted athlete, writer, and jokester, Zach's arrival in this world kept his family in a state of continuous laughter throughout his childhood. He would later be known as a remarkably talented and tenacious basketball player, the sport becoming the locus of many of his greatest accomplishments and pride.

In later years, Zach also developed a reputation as a powerful writer and rapper, with a poet's knack for using the form to distill complex emotions and narratives into quick hitting turns of phrase.

There will be a funeral service at 10am on Thursday, January 9, at Trinity Funeral Home (10530 116 Street NW), with a reception following at the same site.

Zach will be laid to rest by way of green burial at Aurora Gardens at Northern Lights Cemetery.
