William (Bill) Shalapay

"I Did it My Way"

The family is sad to announce that their husband, father, brother and uncle left this world after a 3 month hospital stay in the Royal Alexandra Hospital and the Fort Saskatchewan Rivercrest hospice. The family would like to thank Dr. Klein and all who cared for Bill during this time.

Bill leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of 36 years, Jennifer, daughter Shayna (Adam Knight), son Jonathan (Heather Padavell) and grandson Nate. He also leaves 6 sisters and their spouses; Mary (Frank), Sophie (Lanny), Anne (Duane), Amelia (Tim), Gloria (Lawrence) and Helen as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Bill was predeceased by his 2 sisters; Irene and Lorraine and 2 brothers; Andy and Allen.

During his lifetime, Bill enjoyed exploring backroads in his motor home (especially in Alberta and Alaska), oil painting, and conversations with family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Rivercrest Care Center in Fort Saskatchewan would be appreciated.
