Walter John Chiakowski

It is with great sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Walter John Chiakowski on October 8, 2023 in Edmonton, Alberta 

Walter was born August 19, 1946 in Nipawin, Saskatchewan. Growing up in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan he married in 1969 and moved to Saskatoon and then to Edmonton in 1973 for work as a Millwright. Walter was an avid fisherman who loved the outdoors, watching sports and tackling repairs of all kinds just for the challenge. Walter was a very proud man, genuine, honest and loyal. He was extremely proud of his family and many dear friends who he considered family. His smile and sparkling blue eyes will live on in the many hearts he touched. 

Walter will live on in the memories of his wife Sandra, his son Steven, special daughter Tina and Granddaughter Alexis, brother-in-law Nick Kanigan (Marilyn) and niece Aisha (Charlie), nephews Dale, Abel (Shauntelle), Daniel (Becki) and Seth as well as numerous extended family and friends.

Predeceased by his father and mother John and Jean Chiakowski and brother Gene. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. 

As per Walter's wishes, there will be no formal service.
