Virginia (Gin) Johnson (nee Vander Schaaf)
It is with more sadness than words can express that we announce the passing of Virginia (Gin) on Feb 19, 2017 at the age of 82.
Gin was well respected in her 23 year career with the RCMP Public Service Pay and Benefits and a great friend to many. Gin was the rock and the glue for our family. She had a way of pulling family together without even trying whether it be festive and casual dinners at her house or her favorite, picnics in the park. Gin loved sewing, gardening, her many trips to Hawaii and she will be remembered for her jams, cinnamon buns, perhey and cabbage rolls (which we fought over) and her smudgepots. Gin also loved to watch her grandsons play sports, and would try to be at every game and practice.
Gin will be forever missed by her daughters: Dianne (Wayne) and Dawn Carla; grandsons Allan, Paul, Ryan, Jordan and Cole; sister Donna (Jim), brother Terry (Jackie), sister-in-law Gloria, nieces, nephews, many extended family and her "cutie puppy" Chloe.
At Gin's request cremation has taken place and a Family Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a Charity of One's Choice in Gin's name.
