Theresa Gurash, 73, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on November 17, 2024, in St. Albert, Alberta.

She was born on March 9th, 1951, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, to Peter Gurash and Annie Mazurkewich. She was predeceased by her sister, Gloria Gurash, and her brother, David Gurash. She graduated from Saskatoon Business College and began a 40-year administrative/executive assistant career. Theresa was well-known for her strong work ethic, attention to detail, and sense of humour in the workplace.

Theresa’s smile lit up a room and brought a light with her that all could feel. She had an extraordinary gift for finding joy in everyday life and nurturing deep, lasting relationships with those around her. She loved books, music, small cafes, great conversation, travel, and her family and friends. She pursued learning opportunities throughout her life and challenged herself to grow in her learning. Her spirit of generosity was evident in her volunteering, how she thought about others and the quiet ways she helped those in need.

Theresa is survived by her daughter, Jacintha Gurash (Fred Blaker); her grandson, Emmett Blaker; her sisters, Grace Wesoloski and Lorraine Martens (David Martens); her nieces and nephews; and many friends.

  3. To Gurash family and everyone: Theresa is someone that I was in love with and spent the last 5 years enjoying her company.
She is smart…well-read, articulate, and kept me in line. She has too many lovely attributes to list here! I am missing her already. At the beautiful service I was reminded of the circle of life, this helped to settle me down.
I get to reminisce with her in the near future, I will have her company and hand to walk together again. Thank you God.
