We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Tammy Anne Merenick (nee Lakusta), 66, on June 25, 2024.    She is survived by her husband of 35+ years, Glenn; her nephew Jason (Liz) Lakusta and their two children Cody, and Kaitlyn, and the bright light in Tammy’s life her great niece, Alliesha Proctor (Courtney).  She was predeceased by her mother Anne (nee Hrycak) Lakusta, father Nick Lakusta, and her brother Len (Leonard) Lakusta.

A tribute from Alliesha…

Selfless, generous, nurturing are the first words that come to mind when I think of the person Tammy was. Her heart radiated love, and the impact she has left on the lives around her will surely last a lifetime A laugh so infectious and a smile so warm made it impossible not to feel joy in her presence. We are lucky to have had the pleasure of loving her, and to be loved by her. We will continue to cherish our memories daily.

In times of tears, we remember your laughter.  In times of sadness, we remember your smile.  In times of loneliness, we remember your hugs.  No longer in our lives to share, but in our Hearts you are always there.

The family wishes to thank the numerous doctors, nurses, and staff at the Cross Cancer Institute as well as everyone at the Grey Nuns Unit 43 for their kindness, support and care of Tammy during her treatments.

It was Tammy’s wish to forego any services in her honour.

“Por siempre en mi corazón” - Forever in my Heart…

  1. Dear Cousin Glen,

    Sharlene & Rudy

  2. Glenn,

I’m so sorry to hear about Tammy’s passing. Even though I only met her a few times, I could just feel how kind she was from the start. She meant so much to my Dad – her Papa . Rest in peace Tammy ❤️

  3. Tammy is remembered for her infectious laugh, love of life and family, and her never ending battle with cancer. She is a hero for the way she lived life, like we all did, but fought a battle that none of us could possibly know what she was going through.

Our hearts are filled with fond memories, beautiful times together, and will never forget that burst of laughter. 🙂

    Love,
    Wanda, Brad, Regan, Dexter
