Tak Kwan Tai
December 20, 1931 – January 6, 2021
On January 6, 2021, Tak Kwan Tai of Edmonton, passed away at the age of 89 due to Covid-19 complications.
Tak is survived by his wife of 60 years, Miu Ling, his daughters Ada (Kevin), Alice (Anthony), and sons Tony (Vicky), Allen (Maria), as well as his five granddaughters, Jessica, Stephanie, Samantha, Pricilla and Christi, and two grandsons, Matthew and Nolan.
Tak had a 16 year career with several Edmonton restaurants and retired in June 1994 as a kitchen helper/dishwasher. All of the people that knew him were touched by his kind and gentle soul, his stellar work ethic, and his wonderful sense of humor. He was an amazing person who will be missed by all.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Chinatown Care Centre, who treated Tak with dignity until he passed peacefully and painlessly. They enabled the family to say good-bye during these times when face-to-face visits aren't allowed.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private burial will be held. A celebration of Tak's life will be held at a later date.
