Mr. Yandt was one of my instructors at NAIT from 2004-2006. I respected his wisdom and patience and appreciated how he went out of his way to help me. He’s the only person I met to get the newfie accent just right!! He had a great influence on me and I will miss him. My thoughts are with you at this time.
Shaun and I started NAIT at the same time and we became instant buddies! I will surely miss seeing his face around NAIT and talking with him. Shaun was such a powerful and inspiring instructor and an amazing professional.
I will miss him terribly.
My sincere condolences to Shaun’s family.
To Shaun’s family:
I am so sorry for your loss. Shaun was a dear friend and spoke of you all often. You can be proud of his life accomplishments – he had a huge impact on so may colleagues, students and friends. He was loved and will be missed. Heather
I had the pleasure of working during the summers with Shaun training our new instructors at NAIT. Shaun was a role-model for new staff and embodied the passion and skills that all instructors should have – and he always impressed us with the latest in running shoe designs that were not available in Canada!
Creating the Shaun Yandt Clinical Excellence Award at NAIT will ensure his passion for student support and learning remains.
He will be deeply missed.
Sean was a delightful man, full of life and sure of his goals; to love and respect his family, to be the most professional individual to his colleagues and students, and to always enjoy Paris in February. I will miss his ready smile, coffee on Saturday morning, and his wonderful photographs and stories of Europe. Our thoughts and prayers are with his children and family at this time.

I and my family are shocked and saddened to here of Shaun’s passing. He was not only a friend, but an inspiration to our profession. Rest in Peace Shaun, our thoughts and prayers go out to you and yor family.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss.
I just learned of Shaun’s passing.
Condolences to his loved ones.
He was a Denturist Technology instructor of mine at NAIT in 1994-1995.
He was the type of instructor who expected excellence in everything clinical and lab.
Shaun told me during my class’s 2nd year “Mock Alberta College of Denturists” exam, I would “never make it” as a Denturist.
I never really understood why he said such a thing, if it was reverse-psychology, or if he was having a bad day, or something else.
Regardless, he gave me a passing grade.
Due to Shaun’s influence, I scored the highest score on the College of Denturists of Ontario licencing exam recorded to date (theory/practical combined 97%) and I am a 27 year licenced, successful Denturist.
RIP, Shaun.
