Our beloved Rose-Marie Cadzow, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025, at the age of 66. Born in Lac La Biche, Alberta, on June 14, 1958, Rose brought joy, love, and light to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

With a heart as vast as the prairies she called home, Rose was unwavering in her dedication to her family, often saying they were her greatest accomplishment. She embraced each day as a gift, her infectious enthusiasm and kindred spirit inspiring all who crossed her path.

For over 40 years, Rose loved her career as an educational assistant and reading specialist, mentoring and nurturing countless children. Her impact on young minds was immeasurable, and she cherished the connections she formed with students and colleagues alike. Outside of work, Rose’s zest for life extended to sports and leisure. She was an enthusiastic runner, participating in races with her daughters, niece, and friends, and she rarely missed cheering on her beloved Oilers or her grandchildren at their sporting events.

An avid traveler, Rose delighted in creating lasting memories with family and friends in new places. Some of her favorite adventures were in New Zealand, Europe, Mexico, Hawaii, San Francisco, New York, and Palm Springs. Equally, she found joy in the simple pleasures of sitting around the fire at the family cabin in Lac La Biche.

Rose leaves behind her devoted husband, Jim Cadzow; her loving children, Jason Cadzow (Chantal), Jamie Cadzow-Bouey (Danny), and Lee-Anne Wardell (Pete); and her adored grandchildren, Jordan, Finley, Madison, Luka, Avideh, Jude, and Gibson. She is also survived by her sister Bernadette; her brothers Bernie, Laurier, and Denis; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will deeply miss her.

Rose is now reunited with her parents, Aline and Laurent Turgeon, her brother Lionel, and her sister Monique.

To be loved by Rose was to feel truly blessed. She was the rock of her family and a beacon of kindness, inspiration, and love for all who knew her. Our hearts ache at her loss, but we find solace in the incredible legacy she leaves behind.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Albert Catholic Parish (7 St Vital Ave, St. Albert, AB). A Celebration of Life will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the University of Alberta Hospital Stroke Ward at https://givetouhf.ca/ in Rose’s memory.

Rose-Marie Cadzow was truly one of a kind. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
