Robert Leslie Clark
It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Bob at the age of 82. Loving Dad, Grandad, Great Grandad and friend.
Bob was born on August 3, 1941 in Peterborough, Ontario. In 1945 his family moved to a Military Grant Farm where they had 20 head of cattle. From there in 1949 they moved to an Apple Orchard. It was on this Orchard that Bob fell from a tree and broke his arm. Because his family did not have a car to travel with his arm was casted by the town Veterinarian. On his 9th Birthday in 1950 Bob lost his arm and nearly his life to Gangrene.
Bob attended Variety Village Training School and Graduated from a 2 year Business Administration course in 1961. He took a job with Kodak Canada as a mailboy and moved up to Graphic Sales Tech Rep in 1970. In 1977 he and his family moved West to Leduc, Alberta where he covered Kodak Sales and repairs for Alberta, Northern Saskatchewan and Northern BC. He left Kodak in 1980 but remained working in the Graphics trade until his retirement in 2007.
In November of 1963 Bob married Noreen Sweeney. They were married for 57 years until her passing in 2020. In 1964 they welcomed their only son Bradley.
Following his retirement in 2007 he and Noreen enjoyed many trips in their RV fondly known as "The Blue Dolphin" They took a couple of Cruises to tropical destinations, enjoyed a Riverboat Cruise in England and time with family and friends.
Bob was a quiet, kind man. Even during his many hospitalizations in the past 3.5 years he always had a smile to share. We often heard from people he crossed paths with on this journey that he was sweet and wonderful to care for. He fought with courage and incredible strength to stay with us. His will to live was remarkable. His passing was peaceful with Brad and Corinne by his side.
One of his favorite things to reminisce about was our family camping trip last summer in his Blue Dolphin II Travel Trailer. The entire family all together around the campfire. We will treasure that special time forever.
Bob leaves behind his son Brad, daughter-in-law Corinne, grandchildren Brittany Hayes ( Andrew ), Megan ( Marc ), Braedon ( Tatyana ) As well as 2 great grandchildren Peyton and Jackson Hayes.
He will be missed tremendously by all of us.
Special thanks to the staff at Bob's home Garneau Seniors Hall for your care and support over the 2 years he lived there.
We would also like to thank Dr. Tsisar and her team for their exceptional care at the Kidney Clinic. Dr. Ramsay and Dr. Rouget with their team on the Grey Nuns Palliative Care Unit . Your compassionate care of Bob and our family during this final phase of his life were incredibly appreciated.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Kidney Foundation or the Grey Nuns Palliative Care Unit.
A private family memorial will be held.
Rest easy Bob. We know Noreen was waiting for you by the campfire with her guitar in hand ready for a sing song.
Until we meet again. We Love You.
