Rita Laverne Morris

It is with profound sadness, the family of Rita Laverne Morris shares her passing on the 18th day of August, 2023 at 89 years of age.

We will forever cherish her memory: a life well-lived, dedicated to loving and supporting the large family she had always dreamt of.

Rita was born and raised in Medicine Hat and moved to Edmonton at the age of 16 where she completed her education and later met Gerald. They were married in 1955 and together raised their family. She was a loving daughter, devoted wife, fearless mother, and amazing grandmother and great-grandmother.

Rita will always be remembered by Gerald, loving husband of 68 years; sons, Jerry and Arnie (Shirley); daughters, Patty (Mark), Marylee (Chris), Christine (Ken) and Paula (George); Grandchildren, Tessa, Conn, Bryn, Tyren, Dylan, Devon, Rebecca, Scott, Bryan and 20 Great-Grandchildren – all of whom mom adored and was so proud of!

A very special THANK YOU to the nurses of Ward 43 at the Grey Nuns Hospital for their loving care and compassion in Mom’s final days.

Honoring Mom’s wishes, there will not be a service.
