Richard Haven Siemens

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Siemens on October 16, 2022  in Edmonton at the age of 68. Loving husband to Arzoo and proud father of Danielle and Jordan, Richard will be greatly missed by his large extended family and a wide community of friends.

He was predeceased by his parents Daniel and Frances and mother in law Parvin.

A professional photographer since 1974, Richard will be fondly remembered for his remarkable career. Operating his own studio for over 18 years, he then worked as the University of Alberta’s principal photographer from 1998 to 2020. His output was vast, photographing fashion, still life, industrial, corporate, events, and, most notably, portraiture. A sample of his work can be viewed at richardsiemens.com. Richard will be remembered for his passion, creativity, generosity, love for his family, and dark sense of humour.

His family would like to extend their gratitude to the many doctors, nurses and other medical staff who cared for Richard in his last weeks and throughout the majority of his life. Richard was honoured with an intimate burial and a celebration of life in November 2022.
