Neil Patrick Webb
Sadly, we must announce the passing of Neil Patrick Webb, age 67 on Friday, December 15, 2023. Neil passed away peacefully after a short stay in hospice care at the Gene Zwozdesky Centre in Edmonton Alberta.
He was born June 8, 1956, in Victoria Cove, Newfoundland. Like many Newfoundlanders, Neil moved to Alberta for work in the early 1980s. He lived in Edmonton for the remainder of his life, but Newfoundland was still “home.” He made regular trips back to see family, friends and in fact most everyone in Gander Bay! He also maintained contact from Edmonton making many a phone call to cousins and friends, to check in. Neil also had a large circle of friends in Edmonton, many of whom he met when he first moved there.
Neil was one of a kind with a “big” personality and a great sense of humour (albeit sometimes a bit off-colour) who loved to spend time with his family and friends. Visiting with Neil almost always involved food and he loved to cook up a feed and share it with those he loved. Neil held many different jobs during his life, with a work ethic second to none, always giving 100%, still working up until a few weeks before he was hospitalized at the end of October. Neil loved to watch hockey, although being a die-hard Toronto Maple Leaf fan he didn’t often have a lot to cheer about.
Neil’s passing has left a void in the lives of many, as he truly did have a heart of gold.
Left to mourn his passing are Bente, his partner of 30 years, Victoria, his daughter, and her partner Jesse, his stepdaughter Lis (Chris), his stepson Hans, step-grandchildren, Kennedy and Michael, his siblings Bruce (Gertie), Cliff (Geraldine) and Sharon (Pat), nephews Randy, Lee, Luke and Noah and his niece Jennifer. Neil also leaves behind many cousins and friends.
Neil was predeceased by his parents Brian and Irene Webb, his brother Michael, and his stepson Chris
There will be Celebration of Life at a later date.

Neil was my cousin, He was one in a million, with a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off his back. Neil and I had a wonderful relationship. He called me, at least, once a month or more often, usually while waiting to start work in the morning ( I live in NL so with the time difference it was a good time for both of us to chat). I never knew what his first words would be (could be anything 😆 but then he’d always say…how is my favorite cousin”! I don’t know if I was his favorite but he always made me feel special 😊. I’m so thankful I got to talk to him just 2 weeks ago and we chatted about everything. ❤ He always ended our chats with “luv you cous”.
To my cousins, Bruce, Cliff and Sharon, and Neil’s daughter, Victoria, I am right there with you…my heart is broken, too. And to Neil’s Edmonton family, I send our heartfelt condolences.
Neil, I will miss our chats, I will miss your craziness and foolishness more than you could ever know, even though, when we recently talked, I did tell you how much I’d missed our chats You were often a bright spot in my day.
I somehow feel, your mother, father and Michael, and mom, dad and Graydon were waiting for you with open arms and, I’m sure, you had a joke or two ready to tell them 😍. RIP Neil, You will be fondly remembered and I’ll miss you forever.
So sorry to hear about the BIG man. Nan and I are thinking of you and the rest of the family Bentna. He will be missed by us all. Take care and I hope to see you soon. George and Nan Kilmarnock

Our sincere condolences to Bente, Jennifer and all Neil’s family. He will certainly be missed . He was indeed one of a kind.
We are so sorry for you loss, Neil was a Great Man and a wonderful person. You could not help but smile and laugh when he was around. He is greatly missed by many.
Benta, Hans, Kennedy and family. My heart goes out to you all. I met Niel as a customer many years ago. He was a ton of fun to deal with and unlike a lot of customers I see, treated me with great respect. We soon became friends. We had a lot in Common as I was born in Gander and had many common connections in the Gander Bay Area. Neil was a very honest and sincere man. He forever would greet me with a big laugh and a hearty smile on his face! I will miss him but rest assured his stories will live on forever. Rest in peace Niel. I’ll catch up with you on the other side.xo
