PATRICIA JOAN PERCHESON

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Joan Percheson on March 26, 2024, under palliative care in Sturgeon County Community Hospital (St. Albert, AB).
Joan was our mother, sister, daughter, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She jubilantly celebrated reaching her 90th Birthday on March 16 in her hospital room surrounded by her immediate family.

Joan was predeceased by her father Edward Hillary and mother Alice Hillary, sister Mary Carleton, brother John Hillary, and daughter, Brenda Grabas. Joan is survived by her daughter Susan Wischlinski, sons Kevin (Geri) and Cameron Percheson; her grandchildren Deana (Loren) Rolheiser, Lee Grabas, Erin Wischlinski and Joanne (Tawheed) Sadiq, Lauren and Talan Imperato; and four great grandchildren Cohen and Dane Rolheiser, and Zain and Ilyas Sadiq, as well as caring and dedicated friends.

Joan was born in Edmonton, spent her youngest years in Fort McLeod and then moved back to Edmonton where she spent the remainder of her life. Throughout her life, Joan built many close and valued friendships. She is best remembered for her dedication as a mother and grandmother, her sense of loyalty to family and friends, and her strength and determination to face life’s challenges with a positive attitude.

Joan spent her working life running childrens’ programming at the Highlands and Sprucewood Libraries. In her retirement, she most enjoyed bike riding with her grandchildren, swimming and aquasizing, knitting, crafting, and walking. She loved her family immensely. She has unknowingly touched many lives and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

In accordance with Joan’s wishes, Joan will be cremated and there will be no funeral services or memorial held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Edmonton Humane Society.
