Murray Paul L’heureux
In Loving Memory of Our Beloved Father,
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Murray Paul L'Heureux on December 23, 2023 at the age of 64 years old.
Our dad underwent a kidney transplant a few years ago, facing health challenges with incredible strength. Unfortunately, his immunity weakened, leading to a brave battle against Influenza A, which later transformed into a challenging yeast infection in his lungs. Despite the tireless efforts of the dedicated medical team at the U of A Hospital, he peacefully passed away on December 23rd.
At 64 years old, our father left us far too soon.
Survived by his Father, our Grandfather Paul L'Heureux, brother Clinton (wife Kelly), sister Emma (husband Ron).
He is survived by his six children: Paul, Danny, Kristina, Jennifer, Cody, and Adam.
His memory is cherished by his seven grandchildren: Landon, Keirna Josh, Katie, Easha, Naina and Krista who all dearly miss their Grandfather.
We remember Dad's humorous response to our complaints about shoveling snow, breaking ice, cutting grass, and helping with yard work – "That's why I had kids!" His humour, love, and dedication to family defined him.
As children, we fondly recall Dad's love for tennis, fishing, hunting, camping, and hosting family gatherings. He worked tirelessly, holding a full-time job while seeking opportunities for secondary income, including roles at the pet store, driving trucks for Grandpa, taxidermy, and Slammer Industries. Dad instilled in us the values of hard work, responsibility, and the importance of providing for the household.
When Dad remarried, our family grew with the arrival of our younger brothers, Cody and Adam. We playfully teased them, claiming that Dad, at an older age, was much softer and easier on the younger siblings. It was a joy to witness the gentler and softer side of our father as he embraced his role as a father and grandfather.
Dad's care extended beyond our immediate family; he always cared and looked after Grandpa, never forgetting his birthday or Father's Day. Their relationship was close, a testament to the bond between father and son, and Grandpa feels the weight of this loss deeply.
Our dad was a pillar of strength, a beloved figure in our family, always reasonable, and never one to cause disruption.
Here’s a poem
Gone Fishing
I’ve finished life’s chores assigned to me. So put me on a boat headed out to the lake. Please send along my fishing pole for I’ve been invited to the fishing hole. Where every day to fish,To fill your hearts with every day wish, Don’t worry or feel or sad for me. I’m fishing with the master of the lake. We will miss each other for a while. But you will come and bring your smile. That won’t be long you will see until we’re together you and me. To all of those that think of me be happy as I go out to the lake if others wonder why I’m missing just tell them I’m gone fishing.
Uncle Murray you will be missed so much. Your loss has been hard on all of us 💔
Dad those special memories will always bring a smile if only I could have you back for just a little while. Then we could talk again just like we used to do your always meant so very much and always will do too. The fact that you’re no longer here will always cause me pain but you’re forever in my heart ❤️ until we meet again. Love your daughter Kristina ❤️❤️ xxoo
