Micki Tremain
We are saddened to announce the passing of Micki Tremain. Micki was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who peacefully left us on Monday, January 22, 2024, at Edmonton General Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones.
Micki will be missed by her surviving family including her children Darrin Tremain, Kelley Tremain, Kimberley Brochu (Cam), and Rhonda Hruschak (Curtis), as well as her grandchildren Mercedes (Andy), Avery (Natalie), Isabel (Riley), Zackary, Hayley, Malik, Midas, and Echo, and her great-grandchildren Sailor, Wylder, Jett, and Delilah.
Micki was an incredibly kind and compassionate soul who loved spending time with her children, extended family, and pets while tending to her garden. Her schedule was always full of various activities such as fashion, hair, makeup, wellness, decorating, and helping family and friends. Micki had a deep love for animals and, unfortunately, had to say goodbye to several of her beloved pets over the years. Among them were Charlee, her sweet Lhasa Apso; Mojo, the bird; Punky and Molly, the cocker spaniels; and Sara, the guinea pig she even brought to show and tell at her granddaughter's school. Her affection for animals is a testament to her caring nature towards all living beings.
Micki had a great zest for life, and this light shone on everyone. She was enthusiastic about celebrating Christmas, and her excitement for the holidays was infectious. Micki was a determined, ambitious, and generous lady with a great sense of humor. Her witty comebacks and clever remarks often left people laughing until they cried. She had a remarkable ability to create connections and communities that inspired everyone around her. Her legacy will always be cherished, and she is remembered as a beloved matriarch for her resilience, strength, and pure grit.
A memorial service for Micki will be held at North Pointe Community Church (14025 167 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T6V 1J5) on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 11 am, followed by a luncheon.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate and skilled staff of Misericordia Hospital and The Edmonton General Hospital hospice, as well as to the numerous friends and family members who provided unwavering support through their visits during Micki's final days and beyond.
"I'm Free"
Don't cry for me, for now I'm free
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard him call;
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to work, to love and play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way;
I found that place at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savoured much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seems brief;
Don't lengthen now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now,
I am free
Sending love to my entire family at this time. Mom you no longer suffer and that is comfort. We will follow in your strength and dignity with a zest for life. Please hug everyone and share your light. We miss you so much and not a day will go by without us thinking of you. You were the best mom and we love you to the moon and back a billion times. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
My deepest condolences to you Kimberley, for you and your family for the loss of your mom and family matriarch. You will all have big shoes to fill, but not to worry as she will be looking down on you from above.
