Mary Teresa Volohatuke
It is with profound sadness that the family of Mary Teresa Volohatuke (née Kuryliw) of Edmonton, Alberta announce her peaceful passing on January 25, 2022 at the age of 76 years after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Mary will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 46 years, Walter; children Tammy, Christine, and Michael; grandchildren Eloise and Zachary; brothers John and Myron; as well as numerous friends and relatives. Mary was predeceased by her parents, Maria Pauline and Michael.
Even through her battle with cancer, Mary continued to be the bright, joyous, thoughtful, and compassionate person that everyone knew her to be. She will be remembered for the way she cared for others, as well as for her love of any kind of crafting, flowers, animals, and nature.
A viewing will be held at Trinity Funeral Home (10530 116 St NW, Edmonton, Alberta) on Friday, February 11, 2022 from 2:00-4:00pm for those that wish to pay their respects. In keeping with Mary’s wishes, cremation will take place and no formal funeral/memorial service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute of Edmonton, Alberta via the Alberta Cancer Foundation website (https://www.albertacancer.ca/donate/).
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital for their care and compassion during Mary’s final days.
