Marilyn Minkler
February 3, 1928-November 22, 2019
Our beautiful mom has left us to be once again with the love of her life, our dad Lew, who predeceased her in 2018. She will be forever loved by her daughters Debbie (Len), Pat (Gord), Marilyn (Wayne) and Sue (Robert), grandchildren Aaron, Jill, Heather, Emily, Nick, John, Rebecca and Molly, great grandchildren Lily, Charlotte, Olivia and Ayden, her sister Pat Twomey (Dennis) and her brother Tom Glendinning (Susan) and their families.
Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Marion (Burrell) and Leonard Schultz, Mom and her mother moved to Lethbridge and later Turner Valley after her parents separated. Her mother later remarried (to Lew Glendinning) and they moved throughout Alberta during the “wild cat” years, the search for oil. Mom especially loved her high school years in Taber. One fateful July in 1949, at age 21, she met our handsome dad at an Imperial Oil party. Love at first sight, they became engaged and married two months later! Mom and Dad had a wonderful life together, raising their family and travelling the world. Sometimes they just drove to find the next nice golf course. Their favourite places were Osoyoos, B.C. and best of all Carmel, California. Mom loved her family and was never happier than when we were all together. Our hope is that she is now dancing up a storm with her love. We will miss her.
Celebration of Life
A private celebration of Mom’s life will be held at a later date.
Condolences to all the family. Cherish your memories to help you through this tough time.
We are sad to no longer have Marilyn in our lives but happy that she will find peace and joy once again with the “love of her life”💕
Marilyn I’m so sorry to read that your awesome parents have passed. I’ll never forget the way I met them! Love to you and Wayne.
