Marie-Anne Girard nee Brochu
On Jan 2, 2016 Mrs. Marie-Anne Girard of Edmonton passed away at the age of 98 years. She will be lovingly remembered by sons Paul (Kay), Lionel (Steve) and daughter Lorraine (Jules); grandchildren Jennifer (Evan), Matthew; great-grandchildren Grace & Hope; siblings Leo, Bernadette, Claire (John) and Gertrude (Leon) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Marie-Anne was predeceased by her husband Joffre, parents Amedee and Adeline, siblings Paul-Emile, Laurent and Jeanne, Rachel, Georgette & Lorette. The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff and Pastoral Care at Southgate Care Centre for their care and compassion.

Our thoughts go out to the family during this sad time. Gerty often mentioned Marie-Anne to us while staying at our park in Morinville, Gerty and Leon travelled so often during the summer months and would stay with us while visiting sisters and her brother and family in the area. May you rest in peace Mrs. Girard and be in gods loving hands now with other loving family members and friends of have left before your time. God Bless.
We will miss her smile that for many years greeted customers at Precision Grinding. RIP dear Aunt Mary Ann.
My sincere sympathies go out to Aunty Marie-Anne’s family. She was such a sweet lady. I thought about her very often and she will be missed a lot. Hugs from Suzanne, Mike and Rebekah.
We are so very sorry to hear of Auntie’s Passing. I will always remember her beautiful smile. New Years meals many years ago with my dad and uncle Joffre. On a happy note my mom has another sister with her and lots of catching up to do. Take care and God Bless.
Hope this is the Girard Family that lived on 119 st. about 50 years ago. I was sorry to see your Moms obit in the paper. She was a wonderful age, and from such a large family. Paul, you have “popped into my mind” at interesting times.I have a picture of us at your graduation dance,and one of you in England that my Dad took….amazing that meeting so far away from home. My family ( 3 kids 40,38.34 years and grandd aughter 1) are well..living in Wetaskiwin. It’s a sad day when our Mothers pass.
