It is with great sadness that the family of Maria Rosa Da Silva announce the passing of their beloved wife, mother and grandmother after a brief illness at the age of 72 years old.
Maria Rosa was born in São Miguel, Azores (Portugal) on May 14,1945 and immigrated to Canada in 1968. She leaves behind her loving husband of 50 years, José Luis, daughter Rosemary (Robert) Kassian and son Alexander (Maryann), and her cherished grand-children Madison, Marissa, Zachary and Christopher. She is predeceased by her father and mother, Mariano Joaquim Raposo and Maria de Encarnação Sousa and her eldest brother Silverio. She leaves behind her sisters Almerinda, Auxiliadora, Fatima and brothers Virginio and Mariano as well as many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews and close family and friends in Canada, United States and Azores.
The family thanks the compassionate care she received while on Unit 18 at the Sturgeon Community Hospital.

My heart felt Sympathy goes out to Jose, Rosemary (Robert), Alex (Maryann), Rosa’s grandchildren, siblings,extended family & friends. Rosa’s eyes always light up when she spoke of her loved ones.
It was an honour to have been a Caregiver to such a sweet soul who left a lasting impression on me.
