Maria Drews

The family of Maria Drews sadly announces the passing of our Mother, Oma, Aunt, Wife, and Friend.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Elizabeth, granddaughter Jewel, and her sister Erika as well as numerous relatives and
friends in Germany and Canada.

Maria was predeceased by: her loving husband Arthur (2004), her son David (2013), her daughter Linda (2015), her parents, John & Alwine (both in 1993), her brother, August (2005), her sister, Emma (1999), and her brother in-law, Paul (2016).

Maria will be fondly remembered for being gracious and kind, her smile which could light up a room, her huge heart, being a gracious host and making wonderful home cooked meals, her love of baking and cooking, her ability to make something out of nothing. Without any formal training, Maria had the ability to take an off the rack dress and tailor it to make it look like it was custom made just for you.

She was a strong lady who learned life lessons very early in life having married at just 16 years of age. Maria loved the color blue, especially navy blue.

The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the staff of Sherwood Care who cared for Maria over the past 3 years

We all love you Maria and we will miss you so very much every day. Thank you for being our angel.

Cremation has taken place.

A private burial will take place in May 2022.

Due to current restrictions a Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
