Malcolm Sallie Sr, Loving Husband, Dad, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Beloved Uncle and Friend passed away peacefully on August 26, 2024.

Born in Glasgow Scotland Malcolm entered the world alongside his twin brother Dougie, marking the beginning of a life filled with remarkable stories, unforgettable moments and so much humor. Growing up during the challenging war years Malcolm's tales of resilience and adventure not only shaped his own life but also brought boundless laughter to those around him. His larger than life stories remain a cherished part of his legacy, remembered fondly by family and friends.

At age 17 he met his future wife Rita who was 15… and a half. He was conscripted to the British Army on the Rhine on his 18th birthday. He was sent to Germany for 18 months, the couple wrote each other everyday and married upon his return to Glasgow 73 years ago. In 1957 Malcolm and his family immigrated to Canada and made a great life in Edmonton.

Malcolm had a long and storied career in Corrections with the Government of Alberta, working at Fort Saskatchewan Gaol, Belmont Correctional Centre and the Edmonton Remand Centre

Our Dad loved life and laughter, he found humor and joy in all situations. He loved music, dancing, his wife Rita and his kids Malcolm (Diana), Jacquei (Randy), Neill (Renee) and Andrew. He built two summer cabins and helped many others build their dreams of a summer place at the Lake.

Malcolm’s remarkable life will be remembered with affection and admiration by his loving family and friends who will miss him dearly. A private family gathering will be held to honor his memory and a life very well lived at a later date.
