Lorraine Mary (Hazzard) Forester, a beloved resident of Westlock, Alberta, passed away on January 18, 2025, surrounded by her children and comforted by her favourite music. Born on August 29, 1949, in Westlock, Alberta.

Lorraine spent the majority of her life in Westlock. She dedicated over three decades to her career at Drayden Insurance before retiring at the age of 70. Her work ethic and commitment left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike.

Lorraine found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She had a passion for gardening, where she cultivated beauty and tranquility. She also enjoyed researching family history, cherishing the connections that tied generations together. Time spent with friends and family brought her immense happiness, especially moments shared with her children and grandchildren.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Lesley Forester (Mark Schimanke), Jodi Prazak (Terry Prazak), and Cliff Forester; as well as her cherished grandchildren Maxx Prazak and Cole Prazak. Lorraine also leaves behind her treasured niece Stacey Ashton, (Grantie to Stacey’s children Tegin and Payton); her nephews Scott Ashton (Jazmin Rojas), Travis and Jarrett Claeys, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Lorraine’s warmth, dedication to family, and love for life will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she touched throughout her remarkable journey.

A celebration of life will take place in Lorraine’s backyard garden in July, exact date to be announced.

  1. Lorraine was one of my favorite people. Kind, caring, almost always calm, and had a passion for history, vintage items and gardening.
    I loved hearing about it all. We had a lot of interesting conversations and shared many good times.
    Lorraine would get a gleam in her eyes whenever she talked about her family. They were very important to her.

    I will miss her so much!

  8. Lorraine found my sister and me via her searches in Ancestry. She was so warm and enthusiastic and it was great to meet a second cousin I didn’t even know I had. My sincere condolences to the family, you lost a treasure but as long as she is in your hearts she won’t really be gone.
