Lorraine had numerous Nieces and Nephews that she enjoyed spending time with through her life.
She will be missed by all.
Lorraine grew up in the small community of Albertville Saskatchewan, she was active all her life with home life, school, and sports to fill her days. She married Leo St Amand on Oct 30, 1948, and raised her family of five children and often had members of Her and Leo’s family live with them over the years, Mom and Dad always had room for those who needed a home. They also fostered numerus children through the years. When her young ones were old enough, she embarked on a career that started as a manager of a Burger King Restaurant to retiring as a Field Supervisor for Alberta Health Care Services. She was a volunteer at St Edmunds Parish and served on The Parish Council while residing in Edmonton. She moved to St Albert for brief period and then settled in Sherwood Park at Silver Birch Lodge. She first resided in the Manor in a small apartment where she hosted many fine dinners as she was always a very accomplished Cook. Later she moved to the Lodge and lived there with a circle of friends that she was close too.
Many thanks to Reverand Farther Jim Corrigan (OLPH)for his Blessing of Mom and easing her passing, it was such a comfort to all the family. Thanks to Silver Birch Lodge, her home these past years, Our thanks to U of A, Section 5D Medical staff and the Edmonton General Hospital Palliative Care Unit 9Y Nurses and Staff for your constant compassion and care of Mom.
In lieu of Flowers, please send donations to the Food Bank of your choice.
Lorraine was an elegant woman that I had the pleasure of meeting! Her energy and giving nature amazed me. My condolences go to all of you but especially to Linda, Larry, Dale, Susan and Kevin. Wish I was able to be there to listen to all your memories. 💞💞💞
We are sorry for all of your loss and know that she will be missed by many. I have always appreciated her kindness and how she welcomed me into her home back in my teen years. She made me feel as part of her family and always had a smile and a positive comment every time I saw her from my teens right up to the last time I saw her at Karen’s Birthday celebration this year.. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
She will be dearly missed, a great lady! My heart and my thoughts are with all of you.
