Lorna Gabel (Rowe)

July 20, 1926 - January 11, 2020

It is with great sadness and much love we mourn the passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother “Lorna Gabel” of Stony Plain, Alberta on January 11, 2020 at the age of 93 years.

She will be lovingly remembered by her three children: Howard (Gwen), Karen (Larry), Laurel (Dale).  Her seven grandchildren: Bill (Shannon), Sharon, Katrina (Nikko), Derrek (Erika), Cheryl (Dustin), Jenny (Kenny), Melanie (Trevor) and her ten great grandchildren:  Lexi, Reese, Audrey, Ayva, Blake, Maliyah, Austin, Owen, Jack, Leah; her brother, two sisters, sister in law and extended family and friends.

Mom was predeceased by her husband Henry (1985), her brother Tommy and her parents Carrie and Thomas Rowe.

Mom’s family was her pride and joy along with the Stony Plain Pioneer Museum.  She dedicated many years volunteering as the museum evolved and was saddened when she no longer could volunteer due to her health.

Upon Mom’s request she was cremated and wanted no formal funeral service.  Because Mom’s later life passion was the Stony Plain Museum, donations can be made in her memory.

On May 9, 2020 at 11:30AM the family will be having a Memorial Bench Dedication/Celebration with an afternoon lunch in her memory at the Stony Plain & Parkland Pioneer Museum (5120 41 Ave, Stony Plain, AB)

We would like to thank homecare and the Stony Plain Hospital/ Hospice for the wonderful care Mom received.
