It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Linda Leah Molesky on November 1, 2024 with the love of her family surrounding her.

A beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, Linda brought joy and laughter to everyone she met. She touched the lives of all those who knew her, including the many students and staff of St. Mary School in the over 30 years she taught there.

Linda was predeceased by her father, Matt Bykowski and sister-in-law, Rita Bykowski.

She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 43 years, Michael Peter Molesky, daughters, Meaghan (Matthew) Vavrek, Danielle (Cameron) Nadeau, and Kirsten Molesky; her mother Helen, and siblings, Gail, Gary, and Gwynne Bykowski. Linda also leaves behind her grandchildren: Callum, Ada, Levi, and Annie.

There will be a celebration of life held at a later date.

The family would like to thank the staff at both the Royal Alex and University of Alberta Hospitals for their compassionate care of Linda.

  3. She was a great teacher for both of my sons, Mark and David Smith. I would occasionally see her at wing Wednesday and have a great chat with her. Thinking of her girls and husband at this very hard time. May she rest in peace.

  5. I am so sorry for this very difficult loss. Linda was one of the kindest, smartest, funniest people I have ever known. Her work as a teacher and a teacher leader was exceptional and had an incredibly positive impact on everyone she touched. Peter, Meaghan, Danielle and Kirsten and families hold each other close.

  7. Very sad to hear of Linda’s passing. I worked with Linda and Peter many years ago and always thought she was a great and understanding teacher. The children all loved and respected her. I remember when they said teachers didn’t need to teach cursive writing anymore. All the parents asked at parent interviews and the next week cursive writing began. She was a thoughtful person and will be missed by all. Condolences to Peter and the family

  13. I I am so sorry to hear about the loss of this wonderful woman. I was lucky enough to get to know Linda as a first year teacher. I will never forget the wisdom and kindness she shared with me. I am a better teacher because of her and will always be grateful to have had her as a mentor.
