Lina Marie Hagen
Lina Marie Hagen
January 23, 1944 – February 22, 2019
It is with great sorrow, we announce the passing of our beautiful mom, sister, momo and grandma. She passed away peacefully in Sherwood Park, Alberta, surrounded by loved ones. Her final hours were spent sharing memories, laughter, tears, tequila and Young and the Restless; just the way she wanted it.
If you had the honour of knowing this amazing lady, then you knew her presence was larger than life. Her smile was breathtaking, her laughter was contagious and it was so easy to get lost in those piercing blue eyes. Lina loved her country music; especially George Jones. One of her favourite memories was strumming a tune on the guitar while singing along with one of her siblings. She was an avid curler in her younger years and continued to watch it as often as she could; offering up her play-by-play updates whenever you called while she was watching.
Lina will be deeply missed by her daughters Dawn (Grant), Sandra and Pam. Her siblings, Willard, Larry (Lori), Leonard (Bette) and Donna. Grandchildren Jasmine (Boe), Easton, Madison, Kyle, Katie, and great-grandchildren Urijah and Isaiah, and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Lina was predeceased by her mother Margaret (McDonald) Hagen, father Cliff Hagen, siblings Evelyn, Chester, Florence, Vern and Marilyn.
Upon her request, there will be no formal funeral service. In memory of Lina, please choose to quit smoking and encourage your loved ones to do the same. Donations can be made to The Lung Association, AB and NT.
I am so sad too hear about this wonderful lady. I work at Cloverbar Lodge and we had so many laughs together. When I recently went too working casual she was so upset with me. On one occasion she asked me what is this casual BS You are never here,it’s too casual as far as I am concerned. We all will miss her smile and her sense of humor. May she Rest In Peace. May the love of family and friends help you all through this difficult time.
Condolence to the bereaved family. I’m very saddened to hear of Linas passing. I’ve just known her over a year working at Clover Bar Lodge. She was such a sweet lady with a very good sense of humor. I missed knocking her door in the morning during my rounds, talking and sharing about curling. Telling me how passionate she was in playing curling during her younger years. We all missed her and her memories will remained in our hearts. May she Rest in peace.
Sending condolences for your loss Sandra. We know you gave your heart to this lady for the last few years and she was lucky to have a caring soul like you.Thinking of you and your sisters during this trying time.
I was SO sad to hear about the passing of Lina. I had so many enjoyable chats with Lina. About her childhood. About the north. About her family. I so enjoyed her fiesty personality and we always shared a good laugh. This must be so sad for her children. Love and hugs to you all.
