Take comfort in that, Lee, and all whose lives he touched.
Dear Marta,
Our condolences on your loss. I’m currently searching for more information on the history of my Uncle Ned Lane, whose wife was my mother’s sister, Helen Lane (1934 – 2014) of North Battleford Sask. I met Uncle Ned on several occasions until he passed away several decades back. He owned a School Bus business in North Battleford until he passed away. If you could provide some information it would be greatly appreciated. I am writing a longer history on our family who immigrated to Canada in 1910 around the same time as the original stream of the Lane family began in Maidstead. The families (McNeill and Wheeler) of Birch Lake Saskatchewan lived very near each other.

Our condolences on the passing Leander. I’m currently trying to locate more information about my Uncle, Ned Lane of North Battleford Sask who was married to Helen Lane. Ned passed away you (in his 50s I would guess he was born 20 years before me, perhaps in 1920s or 30s. Many members of my family (The Wheelers and McNeill’s) living around that area of Northern Sask. They also arrived in the early 1900s from the USA. Any help you could provide would be most welcome as I have a book going to publication later this month and wish to update Uncle Ned’s history. Cheers, Harold
My condolences go out to all of the members of the Lane family. Lee was a hard-working dedicated family man who served as a role model for me after losing my own father at a young age. He will live on in our hearts and memories. His legacy will continue through his many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. That’s all any man can ask.

Dear Leander, My condolences to you and you family and my apologies for the lateness of this message, as I have only just seen this notice. I remember so well meeting your Dad, and all your family, one beautiful evening in May, ten years ago. He and your Mum, were so helpful and friendly to me in my search for details about the early black community at Maidstone. You are a wonderful family and I remember you all with deep fondness.Mary Oliver
