Laurene Mae Murray
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Laurene Murray, who passed away at the age of 88 after a lengthy battle.
Born on January 4, 1936, in Meota, Saskatchewan, Laurene spent some time in British Columbia but ultimately settled in Alberta, where she laid down roots and called it home.
Laurene was predeceased by her two children, Jerry and Michele, as well as her parents and siblings. She was always quick to offer a kind word or some tough love, a listening ear, or a shoulder to lean on. Her love for music, singing, animals, cooking, and Oilers hockey will forever be remembered as we continue this journey without her.
Laurene will be remembered for her kindness and her love for those who loved her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was “Grammer,” “Gramma,” “Bonus Mom,” “Aunty,” and a friend to many—and will be remembered with love.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honour to Pilgrims Hospice Society in Edmonton.
She truly was an amazing, kind, thoughtful, loving, incredible woman who will always be remembered fondly! My sincere condolences to everyone who had the incredible opportunity to have her in your life. She is with the angels now!
