Laura Dorothy Arcand (Doe)
It is with great sadness and so much love that we mourn the passing of Laura Dorothy Arcand (affectionately known as Doe) on November 5, 2022 at the age of 99.
She leaves to mourn her loving son Ron (Debbie) and grandchildren Kelly (Ken), Kimberly (Aaron) and David (Angie), 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Doe was predeceased by her husband Gerald, daughter Lynn and son-in-law Louis.
Doe experienced many challenges during her lifetime, losing her husband early in life and suffering the loss of her dear daughter Lynn. Through it all, with her strong work ethic and positive outlook on life, she persevered and had a full life. She created a home for her family filled with love and laughter. Her door was always open, there was always room at her table for her many friends, and what a table it was!
In her later years, she moved into a Seniors Lodge and as always kept busy and involved doing volunteer work within the complex, her community and her church. If there was work to be done, just call Doe! She was a friend to all!
Doe will truly be missed by her family and everyone who had the great fortune of knowing her.
The family would like to thank the staff at McQueen Lodge and Benevolence Care Centre for their compassionate care during her time there.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 14, 2022 at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew’s United Church at 9915 – 148 Street, Edmonton, Alberta.
In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to the charity of your choice.
