Jytte Sorensen

SORENSEN, Jytte
1931-2016

Jytte Sorensen, 84, of Sherwood Park passed on to her next adventure January 15,2016. Born in Aarhus, Denmark, Jytte's first big adventure was a jaunt across the Atlantic when she immigrated to Canada to be with her beloved husband, Peter. They easily settled into the Danish community in Edmonton, created many great lifetime friendships and started a family. Jytte raised three children all while working as a nurse at both Misericordia hospitals, running the home while Peter was out of town, keeping Peter *Profesor de Bullshit* in line, keeping in touch with friends and family back in Denmark (no emails back then!) and saving money for trips and travel.

By the time she retired from nursing in 1991, Jytte and Peter had already been touring around all over the Canada, US and Mexico, looking for the perfect paradise location. They found it in Boca de Iguana, Mexico. They drove their 5th wheel back and forth for the next twenty years! Throughout the summers, Peter and Jytte stayed at their lake front home in Pigeon Lake, often having friends and family out to stay and creating many fun, happy memories.  In Boca and Pigeon Lake, as with anywhere she went, Jytte had friends and family she valued deeply and loved being surrounded by. Jytte was predeceased by her husband Peter, and sister Birthe.

Jytte is survived by daughters Cathy, Linda (Robert) and son Glenn. Grandchildren Karla and Keaton. Brother Torben (BodiI), sister in law Valborg, nieces Louise, Camilla, Karen, Inge and many extended family and friends.

A celebration of Jytte’s life will be held at a later date. We would also like to thank the wonderfuI staff at Country Cottage for their great care and support.
