Julia Katherine Cartledge
It is with deep sorrow that I announce the loss of my beloved mother, Julia Katherine Cartledge, on May 10, 2023.
Julia has been released from the pain of recent personal loss and increasing physical challenges. Throughout her life, she has always been a teacher, organizer, and advisor. She has passed on the skills she acquired in dance, music, and art to her students and friends, inspired joy in Easter-egg decorating and marvelous feasts, and the wisdom earned by experience to all who could benefit. She will be dearly missed.
Julia was born on August 8, 1940 in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, the third of four children born to Dmytro and Kathryn Karapinka. Julia is survived by her son Stefan and sister Delores Lazo, and many extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her daughter Larissa and husband Harold, her parents Dmytro and Kathryn, and siblings Joe and Merv Karapinka.
Reflections and memories will be shared at a celebration of her life, to be held at 2 PM on May 20 in the Trinity Funeral Home (10530 116 Street, Edmonton AB.)

Julie was a warm and welcoming hostess for local Mensa events back in the late 1970s, when Harold revived the group. He brought drive and a vision; she brought heart and sociability. I am thankful for what she did.
