Joyce Megan McKenzie
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our sister, aunt who passed away on Nov 28/23 at the Royal Alex Hospital.
Joyce was born on April 25/55 in Edmonton, grew up on a farm near Bon Accord, then moved to Edmonton. She worked in the offices of Nelson Lumber, Edmonton Police Services, then had a lengthy career with the Public Trustee.
She was predeceased by her parents Marion and Edna, a nephew Bruce, and the love of her life Alvin (Brando).
She is survived by her siblings Brian, Dixie, Anna, and twin brother Jerry (Lena), her niece Mona, nephews Ken, Wesley, Chris, Ryan, and great nephew Magnus.
Joyce attended M.E. Lazerte high school where she gained her skills in food pep. She enjoyed travelling across Canada with Brando on his motorcycle. She loved her pets and putting together 1000 or more pieces of puzzles, spending weekends and holidays camping and being close to nature, at her acreage and hosting an annual pig roast there.
She was given the gifts of hospitality, grace, kindness and generosity and shared these with her family and friends. Joyce had great affection for her niece and nephews. She will be remembered for her gentle and peaceful manner.
We thank the staff at the General and Royal Alex Hospital for her care.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the kidney Foundation or SPCA.
No service will be held at this time.
