John Gallagher
Gallagher, John Andrew
January 7, 1948 – May 30, 2020
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness we announce the passing of John Gallagher, at the age of 72 years. His loving wife and daughters were by his side as he passed peacefully.
John leaves behind his wife, best friend and soulmate Carol (nee Railer), daughters Laurie Fairbrother (nee Gallagher) and Wendy Gallagher, grandchildren Adison and Carter Fairbrother, adored sisters Diane Aronson (nee Gallagher) and Kathy Gallagher and their beloved families and many great friends to cherish so many wonderful memories.
John had a long-standing career as a well-respected managing senior commercial auto underwriter where he had numerous colleagues and friends alike.
He loved golf, playing cards and Tuesday evenings at the pub with his life-long friends, and spending time making memories with his treasured family.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date due to COVID restrictions. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family would like to make memorial donations, they can be made to the Edmonton Women’s Shelter (WIN-House) at donations@winhouse.org
To the family of John “Champ” Gallagher. He is a man I will never forget. I enjoyed our time together immensely whether he was kicking my butt at cards or we were comparing sport apps on our phones. He was taken away way to soon and will be missed everyday. My deepest condolences, love you all.
My sincerest condolences to all the family for the passing of John, a loving husband, a great father, and a wonderful grandfather. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.
My most heartfelt condolences to Wendy and her family on the passing of John. He was well respected in the insurance industry, and a fiercer Uno player I have never met. My thoughts are with all of you.
