John Douglas Bredin
September 26, 1933 – May 6, 2017
Saturday May 6, 2017 Doug passed away suddenly at the age of 83 years .
Doug was born in Cranbrook, BC. Attended the University of Alberta graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering. He enjoyed a 30 year long career as a civil servant. Married in 1982 he and Hanna shared a quiet retirement in Edmonton with their many friends and family. Doug made friends wherever he went, larger than life, never without an opinion and always ready for a laugh. A wonderful and kind man admired by all who knew him.
Doug was predeceased by his parents Harold and Pearl, brothers Hugh, Kurny and sister Lynne. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his loving wife Hanna, nephews Brad (Wendy), Rande (Angela), Ben (Mike), nieces Shelley, Desiree (Alan), Angel (Stef), Tess, sister-in-law Vi, other family and friends.
At Doug’s request there will not be a funeral. His ashes will be interred in the Edmonton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Diabetes Association, Heart and Stroke foundation or other Charity of choice would be appreciated.
