My condolences to you and your family. I worked with John at the Nova shop in Athabasca. He was a great guy. I really enjoyed his company. I wish you and yours all the best and take care.
Sincerely, Rob Lackey
I have fond memories of working with John at the Edmonton Service Center, as well as the many social activities we participated in back then… mostly curling events come to mind… He was a very compassionate and supportive person.
My deepest condolences to his family.
I first met John in 1977 at Cavendish. he was out doing an Inspection and some chicken hunting. I also worked with him in athabasca. My son married his step daughter so the friendship grew and grew. one he’ll of a human, damn fine respectable boss and just an alround nice fn guy. he’ll be missed for sure. REST EASY JOHN, GOD BLESS CONDOLENCES TO ALL. P.S. GIVE BARB A BIG HUG FROM THE WHOLE DAMN CREW.
A great guy and true gentlemen. John was well thought of by all who knew him at Nova Gas Transmission. It was a great company, with talented people and supportive family of employees back in the day.
I worked, curled, played ball, vacationed, partied, was best man and obviously did much more with John over the years. He was a true friend and a great human being. Decades of memories, very good memories.
At work we would be overhauling a big old reciprocating engine and at the end of the shift my clothes looked like I had cleaned all the grease and oil up with them. I’d look over at John and his clothes looked the same as when the day started! He was so neat – his work truck, garage, office, filing and even his writing. People comment on how neat my garage is and I ALWAYS think of John, as he taught me that.
I went to (I think) John’s 50th birthday party and tied up a miniature Billy Goat on his front lawn with a sign saying “The old goat is 50”. When I was leaving John said “Don’t forget your goat” and I said “Not my goat”! Well John called him “Moser” and built a goat house and that goat was a fixture for a few years, it even went for walks with them.
In memory of John, I am going to ensure I regularly touch base with some old friends as I’m sure I’m not alone when I say that is something I’ve been neglecting. We say we’re so busy but there really isn’t any excuse for it.
A special thanks to Leah (John’s stepdaughter) for all she has done for John over the last few years.
I always said “Till next time” when leaving John after visiting. And I’ll say it one more time “Till next Time, John” as I believe there will be one more time.
My condolences to the family, relatives and friends, RIP my friend.
My condolences to you. I worked with John for many years at the Edmonton Service Centre. Many great memories from those years. John was an exceptional man. He will be missed. ❤️
Dear John – you will be missed. I can still hear your great laugh! I knew John and Barb though the many AGTL/NOVA social gatherings and kept in regular contact until Barb’s passing.
My deepest sympathies to the Hall family.
