On Saturday October 8,  2022, Joao Coelho of Edmonton, AB passed away at the age of 83 years.

Joao is survived by his wife of 57 years, Zelia; his children Paul (Roxanne) Coelho, Lisette (Todd) Letourneau and Patricia (Marcello) Carnovale; eight grandchildren: Alec (Emma) Letourneau, Eric and Thomas Letourneau, Raymond and Ryan Coelho and Victoria, Arianna and Daniella Carnovale; two great-grandchildren: Aiden and Graysen Letourneau; sisters Ilda (Jose) Medeiros and Madelena Coelho; nieces and nephews: extended family and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Joao and Ilda, his brother Dinis and sister Ernestina.

Joao and Zelia immigrated with their young family to Alberta from Sao Miguel, Azores, in 1971. Joao was a skilled mason whose work can be found in buildings across Edmonton and whose good humour lives on in his family.
