Joanne Nancy Wujcik (Nee Cooper)
July 24, 1959 - February 6, 2024
It is with sadness & sorrow, shock & disbelief that we share the news of Joanne's passing on February 06, 2024.
As a daughter, sister, nurse then wife, step-mother and teacher the lives Joanne touched and influenced will be forever remembered. She will be greatly missed.
Survived by her husband Gene of nearly 28 years, mother Betty, brothers Bruce (Mary), Steven (Cindy), step-children, grandchildren, countless nieces, nephews, great nieces, cousins, friends & loved ones. Predeceased by her father Hugh Cooper.
Friday February 23rd would have been their 28th wedding anniversary and will instead be a private Celebration of Life.
Donations can be made in her name to the Canadian Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
A nice woman who was warm, welcoming, and was concerned about health and happiness of others.
Dear sister in law will be missed ♥️
Gene & All Family Members,
Saddened greatly by hearing of Joanne’s passing. She was such a happy and giving person with her time; and the way she loved life and helping others. I will always be thankful to her for changing shift times with me while working for the Sister’s of Charity in Ottawa; and the patients always calling me Jo, and she Kim, as we were close in stature. I know she will be in a good place; but didn’t expect so soon a passing.
I always thought there was time to visit. A couple of years ago I tried to connect with her in Edmonton; but COVID prevailed then, and wasn’t possible.
Rest in Peace my friend; hope to cross paths again in the afterlife.
My Sincere Condolences,
Kim Johnston
Joanne, I had been thinking of you a lot recently and only recently discovered your obituary. I knew you in high school, you were a friendly, sweet girl. I’m so sorry. Rest in Peace.
