Joan Margaret Easton

The family is saddened to announce the passing of Joan Easton from cancer.

Raised on a farm near Kitscoty, Alberta, Joan worked as a librarian and elementary school secretary. Her interests included gardening, knitting and other needlework crafts, and music, serving as a church organist for many years.

Married to John for nearly 65 years, she was the proud mother of Don (Jean), Robert, Brenda and James. Her greatest joy came from time spent with grandchildren Nancy (Nicole), Janice, Liam and Erin, and great-grandchildren Mackenzie and Belamy.

Predeceased by her parents Irene and Hubert, and brother Norman McCourt, Joan will be missed by her family and many brothers, sisters, in-laws, nieces and nephews, and cousins in BC and Alberta.

We celebrate Joan’s long life and remember her with much love. At her request, no funeral will be held.

Memorial donations may be made to the Easton Family Scholarship at the University of Alberta, The Nina Haggerty Centre for the Arts, or Salvation Army - Grace Village Capital Campaign.
