Official Obituary of
Isabel Christen
1962 - 2024
62 years old

We are devastated and heartbroken on the sudden passing of Isabel Christen, loving wife, sister, aunt and friend to many, Isabel, or “Izzy” as she was better known by all that knew and loved her, passed away after a short and courageous battle with cancer.

Izzy was a self-described “incurable collector” with a deep passion for finding, haggling for, and bringing home anything old, unique or interesting, whether from auctions, garage sales, or more recently, on-line. She filled our home with her many treasures which she carefully sorted and displayed with pride.

Izzy also had a deep and profound love of her many pets over the years which she always referred to as “our children”. From dogs and cats to Koi fish in the pond, she loved them all. Izzy loved the simple things like getting together with friends and family, playing cards, hanging out and visiting, or watching her favourite reality TV shows. Her infectious laugh and big smile will be dearly missed.

Izzy was predeceased by her father, Orest Sorochuk; her mother, Victoria Shewchuk; and sadly her older brother Dennis Sorochuk, who passed away just three weeks prior.

Izzy will be lovingly remembered by her husband and partner of 35 years Robert Christen, sisters Marvie Giordano and Cheryl (Dorian) Landon-Snyder; sister in-law Sandie Sorochuk; nieces and nephews Jason (Brandie); Kathryn; Nicholas (Amanda) and Kindra (Matt).

To my loving wife, you are the best thing that ever happened to me. You were my first and only love and I will miss you more than words can describe. Thank-you for 35 great years and showing me what true love really is. I will carry you in my heart forever.
