Eva Strulick

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eva Strulick, who departed this life peacefully on December 28, 2024, at Sturgeon Hospital in St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, at the age of 87.

Born on December 27, 1937, in Hamburg, Germany, Eva lived a remarkable life defined by resilience, determination, and love. One of her greatest achievements was her courageous decision to move with her family from Germany to Canada, where she built a new life and proudly became a Canadian citizen.

Eva was a woman of extraordinary strength and unshakable willpower. Those who knew her describe her as a force of nature, a woman who found a way to overcome any obstacle in her path. She was deeply devoted to her family, especially her children, whom she loved with all her heart.

Eva is survived by her daughter Maureen Lumley, her son Joe Bertschy, and her beloved grandchildren Nicky Lumley and Kyle Lumley. She is also remembered fondly by her longtime companion, Jim Muzuci, who shared the last decade of her life with her and lovingly cared for her during that time.

Eva had a passion for painting and crafting intricate embroidered canvases, an art form that brought her immense joy and allowed her creativity to flourish. Her legacy is one of strength, love, and perseverance, and she will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.

A private celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.
