Eileen “Audrey” RITTER

It is with deep sadness that the family of Eileen “Audrey” Ritter announce her passing at the age of 93.

Audrey was predeceased by her husband John Ritter and will be lovingly remembered by her son Robert (Val) and grandchildren Jennifer, Stephanie and Elizabeth, son James (Renata) and grandchildren Kathryn and Andrea, son Michael (Alex) and daughter Janice (Dennis) and grandchildren Alan and Celise. There are four great grandchildren as well left to cherish and honour her memory along with her only surviving sibling Marlene Domler.

Audrey was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan and moved to Edmonton with her husband and first two children in 1955.

Proudly, years later, Audrey continued her education by first finishing high school while she was in her late 30’s and eventually achieving a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta in 1973. After her degree, she started her career as a teacher with Edmonton Catholic Schools.

Audrey loved to travel with her husband John and they visited many destinations together. Eventually, they discovered Ibiza Spain, where out of sheer love for the region, decided to build a permanent villa. They named it Casa Kanata in honour of Canada. Ibiza remained their holiday spot for many years.

The last few years of Audrey’s life were very difficult from a health perspective, but she met the challenge with courage and determination right to the end. With this in mind, her family is thankful that she is now at complete and peaceful rest.

Audrey will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all of us who knew her.
