Edna Alberta Lerl
A bright light has left this world peacefully after a long and happy life.
Edna is the beloved half sister of Carroll Ganam (Sal) and Dixie Roberts.
She was predeceased by her husband Eldon Lerl, her mother Helen Lundy, father O.R. (Bob) Roberts, her sister Faye Lafortune, and brothers Dennis and David Roberts.
Edna will be remembered and missed by her friends and extended family. She collected many friends throughout her career with CP Telegraph and Northern Alberta Railway as a teletype operator and then as a secretary and editor at The Alberta Teachers’ Association. She was wonderfully kind, generous and had a wicked sense of humour.
Her interest in astrology led her to create astrological charts for every member of her family and friends which led to interesting conversations and predictions.
She will be remembered for many shared moments over her love of baseball, particularly the Toronto Blue Jays, and a cold beer.
She had a special knack of being everyone's favourite ‘aunty’.
She leaves indelible marks on all of our hearts. She will be greatly missed.
At her request there is no funeral.
Our deepest sympathies go out to Carroll and Dixie and their families. I know you will all miss Edna very much. Sending you all love and hugs.
In loving memory of our beloved Great Auntie Edna – and she was GREAT – we love you so very much! Thank you for all of your love, wisdom, wittiness, and wonderful humor. You never left a room without making everyone laugh and smile. Your mark on us all is indelible and will never be forgotten.
All our love,
Michelle & Kevin Haight
Dale and I are sending our deep sympathies and love to Carroll, Dixie and families on the passing of their dear sister.
Edna was such a lovely person, I was so lucky to have known her all my life. And what a treat to have that last FaceTime conversation with her a few weeks ago.
Rest in peace Edna. I know you will be missed.
