Edith Mary Giesbrecht

June 3, 1917 – May 11, 2013

With regret we announce the passing of Mary Giesbrecht (nee Whitlock), three weeks shy of her 96th birthday. Predeceased by husband Bill in 1982 and daughter Judi in 1974, Mary will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her daughters and their families: Wendy and John Hill (Josh, Melanie and Mika; Nathan and Ileah); Marnie and Joachim Segger (Mark and Heather; Chris); Debbie Giesbrecht; and grandson Jason Cockroft (Tracy, Jordan and Zach, Logan, Morgan); caregiver Kelly Pawliw and many relatives and friends.

Mary was an enthusiastic optimist who loved all kinds of music and dancing, golf, yoga, playing cards and scrabble, and being in the company of family and friends. She was always up for a party or an adventure, and enjoyed travelling, be it by car or cruise ship. She was happy watching children play under blue skies, and maintained her sense of humour and love of chocolate to her final days.
