Eddy Chorney
With great sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Eddy Chorney of Edmonton on May 14th, 2022 at the age of 73. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Doreen, his children Brandy (Ken), Amber (Bing), Kyle (Mel), his grandchildren Ethan and Ella, his two sisters Shirley and Linda, his brother James (Anna) and his nephew Hedin (Mary). He was predeceased by his parents Steve and Sadie Chorney.
He was full of life and his generosity, good humor and strength are what family and friends will always treasure. He always had a great laugh and loved to tell stories about his dogs Harley, Chopper, Zeeva and Coco.
His cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of his life in July.
The family would like to send special thanks to the numerous doctors and nurses at the U of A Hospital and the General Hospital Dialysis Unit that have cared for Eddy over the last few years. We would also like to thank the various EMT’s and Fire Station 27, Harmony Caregiving and especially Cynthia for taking such good care of him through these last years.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
What a beautiful tribute to a wonderful man who will be dearly missed. May the many happy memories of the times with friends and family bring you all much comfort.
Ed is the treasure that we will carry in our hearts forever, he lived life well.
There was no one like Eddy–kind, warm, friendly and always ready with a story or joke. Despite his hardships in his last years, he always stayed positive when talking to our family. He will be greatly missed. Much love and condolences to Doreen, Brandy, Amber and Kyle (and their partners), Shirley, Linda, James, Anna, and Hedin.
Love,
Joyce, Judy, and Barika
Eddy was a constant source of joy for everyone around him. He will be greatly missed. My condolences to Doreen and the rest of his family and friends.
Eddy was an inspiration and one of the reasons I started serving as an municipal employee. He was a trooper, battled, and never gave up. He truly will be missed by our family.
