Duane Richard Pyear
Duane Pyear, July 1953, in now at peace, having lived with Alzheimer’s for the last 11 years.
He grew up as a farm boy in Glen Ross, Ontario with his Dad Doug, Mom Shirley, and brothers Barry and Les.
After attending university in Ottawa he moved to Alberta working for many years for the Government of Alberta. He loved playing hockey with the Barons, biking, gardening, golfing, and travelling. His wife Ann and daughter Ellen had many wonderful years with a kind and loving husband/dad.
Thank you to all our friends and family that have given us support throughout this journey. Also, a thank you to the staff at Extendicare Eaux Claire who took care of Duane for the last couple of years.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Alberta and NWT, who were instrumental in getting us through dealing with this tragic disease.
A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
I worked with Duane at Albera Economic Development for several years and greatly respected him professionally and personally. My sincere condolences to Ann and Ellen.
