It is with heavy hearts and deep pain we announce the loss of Douglas Stagg. He was taken from us far too soon after a very short battle with pancreatic cancer. Doug passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, April 13th, 2022.

Doug was born on July 18th, 1954 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. He had a long and successful career in the trucking industry. It started by working for his father at Trimac Transportation washing trucks at the age of 14, a company he stayed with for 37 years. In his 50+ years in the industry he worked his way up from washing trucks, to working on them as a heavy duty mechanic, to the management of entire fleet maintenance.

Despite a strong dedication to his work, he did enjoy a few hobbies in his younger years. Doug was passionate about mechanics. He would spend his time working on cars and racing jet boats. As he got older, and then eventually retired he enjoyed the quieter times of being home, spending time with family, and his two dogs.

Doug kept a small social circle, and was seen as a quiet man. To those who knew him well though and were lucky enough to be close to him, he was incredibly generous, patient, and kind. He would do anything to help someone in need, regardless of the cost to himself.

Doug was predeceased by his parents Wilson and Ida Stagg. He is survived by his wife Nancy, his two sons Mark(Toni) and Mike(Tiffany), and his two grand-daughters Kayla and Zoe. He is also survived by his brother Cliff, Sister Linda(Eric), nephews John(Jess) and Lee(Jessica)and niece Jamie(Chris).

  1. Doug and I worked together but in different shops. We would meet up after our shift ended at midnight and drive out on the highway to Edson blasting music on our 8 track.
We than decided to go to LA one summer. We took my Lemans sport 400 and it broke down in Osyous but Doug stole a battery from another camper and we were good to go. We got to the border and US customs said they would give us only 7 days and they would come looking for us. We got to LA and we went to a movie downtown , it was Black X-Mas and we were the only white dudes in the thearter, Have a lot more to say about the trip coming back to Canada
