Doreen Van Dyk
The day we all knew was coming has come.
Our valiant and brave warrior was slain by ovarian cancer and passed peacefully on Tuesday Oct 31, 2023 at 11:22PM in the Lois Hole Hospital, Edmonton
She fought long and hard but was too weak and too tired to carry on....she did not want to live her life as it was and went on her own terms. The love of FAMILY, and friends sustained her to the very end.
Doreen will be lovingly remembered by her husband Chuck Neher; her children: Christine ( Evil - Scott ) Albrecht, Gary ( Holly ) Van Dyk; Chuck's children: Charles ( Alex ) Neher, Patricia ( Good - Scott ) Weinrich ; grandchildren: Quinn, Gavin, Hazel and Violet ; as well as her mother Martha and sisters: Lorraine, and Margaret.
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place Sunday Nov 19th from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM At the Millwoods Golf Course 4540 50 St NW, Edmonton, AB.

I am Doreen’s second cousin (Ewald was my first cousin) and I’ve not seen her since her first wedding in about 1978?? My deepest condolences to Chuck and family on your loss. She sounds like a fine individual and loving mother, wife, sister and daughter. Stay strong.

I will remember Doreen as an great lady. I worked with her on work projects and always had fun. Doreen always had that little glint.of the “devil” in her eyes and laugh for us all.
Doreen was a very special friend and neighbor to us! We will always miss her and remember her with love! I’ll never forget her bringing the grandbabies around for Halloween, she was always so proud of them. Our condolences to Chuck, Gary, Chris, Tricia and the rest of the family!
Dear Chuck and Martha and family: We are deeply saddened by the passing of Doreen. She was such a wonderful person. She can now run and play with all of her beloved Shelties.
Doreen was such a caring, loving, friendly, and welcoming. She cared for her family very deeply and I’m so happy to have known her and have had her in my daughter’s life. She will be missed. Much love to Chuck and family.

Doreen and Chuck both worked in our office several years ago. The two of them were always up for a good laugh! At that time Doreen was our supervisor/manager and she will always be remembered for her patience and quiet tone. Doreen got along well with everyone and just made it an easier place to come to work. My condolences to Chuck and family.
