On December 31 2014 Donald McGaughey of Edmonton passed away following a three month struggle with cancer. Donald leaves to mourn his loving wife of 61 years Edith, Daughter Patricia Morden, Son Rick McGaughey, three Grandchildren; Jodi and Jason Morden, and Curtis McGaughey (Karolina), as well as three Great-Grandchildren; Alana, Elizabeth and Zachary, his Sister Diane Heglin, Sister in Law, Gloria Fletcher (Arlyn), as well as many extended family and friends. Predeceased by his Parents Irene and Don Hollands, siblings Ken (Kathy) Hollands, and Dave Heglin. Donald served in the Military for 27 years retiring as a Master Warrant Officer, following that he worked for 12 years as a Provincial Correctional Officer. In respect of Donald’s wishes cremation has taken place, with a Celebration of Life to follow at on Saturday January 17, 2014 at 6:00pm -9:00pm at Lago Lindo Community League, 17123 - 95 st. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made in Donald’s name to the Alberta Cancer Society, or the charity of one’s choice.
Dear Edie, Pat, Rick & families, You have our heartfelt sympathy in the passing of Don. He was a great brother-in-law & we will miss him. We so enjoyed our visits with him, his wonderful hospitality.
