We are left to mourn David who was a beloved son, brother, uncle, widowed husband and friend. He was born in Melfort Saskatchewan, at a time when only basic prairie comforts were available. His family moved to Edmonton in 1956 – a city just at the start of the oil boom - modern enough for us (it had running water) but little changed from decades earlier. He attended NAIT and became a lab technician in both Sudbury and later Edmonton. Before retirement he also spent a few years as a long distance truck driver. Through it all he had a special fondness for pet dogs and cats, plus the occasional hockey or football game of course. He recently recalled his chance encounter with both Stompin’ Tom Connors and Gordon Lightfoot at Toronto’s Horseshoe Tavern one evening in the 1970s. So he appreciated good music.

David was predeceased by his father Arthur, his mother Fay, his wife Bev, his sister-in-law Barb, his step-mom Nell and his brother-in-law John.  He leaves his brother Wayne along with nephew Trevor (Natalie) and niece Jenny (daughters Monique and Natalia), his sister Shauna along with niece Nicole, plus his brother-in-law Jim and his good friend Connie.

David will be remembered for his good nature, friendliness, caring, loyalty and great memory. Though he had a few health issues and reduced mobility in later years, he looked on the bright side, never complaining. He will be missed.

The family ask, in lieu of flowers, a donation in David's name can be made to the charity of one's choice.
